For those of you wanting a simple EN450 diagram here ya go it can get a little simpler nixing the blinkers/turn signal unit... bare bones as possible yet remains legal. Attachment DeletedAttachment Deleted

i'm trying to chop even more, less is more, right?
So i'm trying to replace the turn signal/high low beam/horn, hand control unit. the turn signal switch on the new unit only has 3 wires not 7 like the factory. not sure what to do, I'll keep reading, but if anyone can help, thanks.

My best guess: the power out wire from the flasher, goes to the "common" wire on the switch, then the other 2 wires go to the signals, one for each side. Make sense?

this bike has a turn signal relay, and a turn signal control unit. after looking at other turn signal wiring diagrams it looks like I can eliminate the control unit and just use the relay. I plan on eliminating the reserve lighting unit too. in the simplified diagram above, he eliminated the reserve lighting unit but not the control unit. let me know what you guys think. I am not using the auto signal cancel part either.

Once you eliminate the factory controls, you won't have auto cancel signals anyway, as the auto cancel uses a mechanical means of turning off the switch from within the controls.

I put a badlands auto cancel unit on mine, with Harley controls.
I don't get around these parts often these days. If I run across all my notes since my move from S.C. I'll sling em up here. Cheerio!

My bike didnt have it when I bought it and the blinker's work, though I actually just received a new control unit in the mail today-I'm trying to put my harness back as close to original as I can. That said I am in need of a distance sensor if someone has one, but doesnt need it (would even be willing to paypal some cash so you wouldnt be out of any cash getting it to me. peace and wildness-divot-

Somewhere in one of the posts, I told how the turn signal cancel worked....I don't remember where, now, but it is a combination of distance (controlled thru part of the internal works of the speedometer) and time.

The distance sensor is inside of the speedo, it's basically a "partial" gear on a spindle that turns another gear by inertia, after it has turned this gear so many revolutions... the blinkers cancel. It's a clockwork mechanism instead, of an electronic timer with many auto cancel units you find on bikes these days. So if you are traveling at 60-MPH and hit the signal it's gonna cancel sooner on than if you hit it at 15-MPH... it's a very neat little mechanism.

Likely....there are more "parts to the lighting system than the handlebar switch...there is the reserve lighting module that was originally under the rear seat on the rear fender...they work together. You may have to find another headlight switch and somehow just "hotwire" it and the headlight & taillight in.

Been a while since the last reply on this topic so I hope someone still reads this.
At first, many thanks for the chopped diagram! I put some dimensions on a large piece of cardboard and used this diagram to make a custom wiring loom which fits the bike like a glove.
Now the only this I have to do is wiring every end to each component. The first issue I encounter is, I bought this bike non running all ready chopped by PO. Stripped it to the bone, painted every parts, New bearings etc, put it back together and started wiring.
The extend of chopping by PO went so far as I got all components in a box and even the bare wiring got ja ked out of the connectors. Now I need to figure out which wire goes where. Does anyone know the pin layout for the cdi? Like where in the connector goes the coil wires, pick up etc?
Thanks up front
