The fork seal replacement went great. That's the good news. But I stripped the threads on a fork when I reinstalled the little drain screw. I'm getting a bit of seepage.
So is Helicoil the way to go? Or tap it out for a bigger screw? I'd be grateful to hear from anyone who's happy with their repair.

Fork tube seals are next to last on my to do list. Have you tried a new screw? Teflon tape?

I haven't tried anything yet. Teflon's an easy idea. The seep is very minor at this point, but I'm afraid of having the screw shoot out while I'm riding. I don't know if you've seen this fork seal video on YouTube. It's a guy redoing his VN750 which uses the same forks as the 454.
