I have a 1986 Kawasaki 454 ltd i got from a friend for free. the title and vin on the bike match but whenever my friend got it all the spots on the back of the title (where you sign it over when you sale/trade it) are completely filled up. The last time it was titled, the date on it was 2003. If it was more recent i would attempt to get a hold of the guy and work something out but it being 11 years ago theres no telling where the guy is. So what do i do? Would i just file for a new title? I'm in Arkansas so how would i go about that? This is what is keeping me from really hitting this project hard. I don't want to put a lot of money into the bike just to have it taken away or some other unspeakable thing. If its going to be taken i would rather it happen now before i get too attached you know? I mean push come to shove i have to buy a frame with a title and use this as a parts bike but i would really rather not do that.

State laws vary from state to state......best thing for you to do is check with your state's DMV. Ask like you were "contemplating" a purchase, like "what if the back of the title is all filled out, how would, or could I, get a clear title in my name"?
