Just picked up a 1987 454 for $800. Looks pretty decent, runs and drives nice, has a few minor issues. No doubt needs carbs tuned and valves adjusted. This is my first cycle since a Kawasaki 100 enduro over 20 years ago. I'm excited, and I read a lot about this bike before going to look at it. Sounds like there's a bit of a cult following, which is cool. Looking forward to chatting with you all. I'll try to post pictures shortly.

I can definitely see why you all love these things. Put 40 miles on it today. Not a lot, but even with this thing needing the carbs synced and the valves set, it's no slouch, even for my big Donkey. It came alive a few times, and even picked the front tire up hitting 2nd once. Did not expect that from a 27 year old bike that outweighs me by less than 200 lbs, and I haven't rode in over 20 years.
