Hi to you all. After forty plus years decided to ride the black top again. Last street bike I owned was a 1970's Yamaha 125. I have been riding dirt bikes, quads and snowmobiles, but got the itch after riding a friend of mines older Honda V65 (scared the heck out of me). I did spend time researching on the net what bike would fit my age & riding experience. Came up with the Honda V30 & Kawi 454. In south western Canada both bikes are some what difficult to find, however, I was able to purchase one via Kijiji. I found a 1987 with 13.500 kilo (that's Canadian mile eh) that was good shape overall. The tank & side covers were repainted but I will restore the original paint (ebony black) this winter. A friend of mine who is a photographer is going to replicate the original decals (will let you know later how we made out). But after putting a few miles on it two issues arose. The fan sensor does not work - will replace will original from Kawasaki. The second issue is it is that the idle is extremely slow to return to normal (1200 rpm). I could you some help on this. Other than that the bike rides great - what a blast (scared the heck out of myself again). Hope to contribute to the forum over time. Thanks in advance. Mickey

Mickey Welcome to the forum.Slow return to idle is usually a sign of pilot screws (idle mixture) needing adjustment.
