Newbie here, looking at purchasing a 1988 454

Hey all!
I am a newbie to both motorcycle riding and the 1988 454. 
I am looking at the 1988 454 as I read much about it being a good starter bike as well as a good bike to grow into.
I am going to take a look at a 1988 454 with about 8,000 miles which is advertised as in perfect running condition for $1200.  Is this a good price?
Also appreciate any other feedback!

Welcome to the forum.I would say a good price.The mileage is great.If you do buy it be prepared to change all fluids & do a valve adjustment.
