Newbie here to both Motorcycles and the 454 LTD, so I have a feeling I'll be active on the boards.
Just picked her up today, took her for a spin around my neighborhood and looking forward to this!

Thank you! Happy to be here! Also, would appreciate any suggestions on where to start with maintenance. Feeling a bit overwhelmed, but so far I have the Maintenance Manual, and saw a lot of reference to doing the Valve Adjustment, but would appreciate anything else that you might be aware of through experience.

Valve adjustment very important on these engines. Also a look at brake fluid to see if it's clean & golden color & check the coolant level in overflo bottle.

And when you get to the valve adjustment, we have an easier way than what the manual says...check thru the forum here.....directions are here in more than one place.

I got mine in July and can't stay off the thing. An oil and filter change is a good place to start. The guys here recommended Rotella T6 5w40 synthetic and it makes a big difference in shift quality. Make sure the back label on any oil you choose has the JASO-MA specification. The first thing I had to replace on mine was the clutch cable, it had been in contact with the left exhaust pipe and was corroded, made the lever very stiff. Check your cables, make sure your cables are lubed and learn how to adjust your shifter and rear brake pedal for control and comfort.
