Hi, So today I just performed my first valve adjustment. All went well except I was tightening the last bolt on the valve cover, and it snapped. The broken piece is on the inside and I have no idea on how to get that out.
Any suggestions out there?
Thanks

Thanks You will need to remove the valve cover & use a small drill bit & a easy out bolt extractor.Put lots of rags around the head area so nothinfalls into the engine. You may be lucky enough to find enough of the bolt sticking out that you can spin it out without drilling.

Thanks Blaine! It's great to see the prompt responses from you.
When I broke the bolt, my heart sank, but luckily with some patience and the good ole, DON'T PANIC mantra, I was able to carefully get it out. For now I have a temporary bolt in there, and will need to get a replacement soon (hopefully tomorrow).
It's now back together again and starts right up and I think it sounds good. Still have some work to do, I'm thinking the carbs will eventually need to be cleaned. I broke the tachometer cable in the process of the valve adjustment so I'll also need to fix that too.
A bunch of rookie mistakes, but I'm definitely learning a lot in the process.
Thanks again.

Glad to help. You may want to try some SeaFoam in a tank of fuel.It may save you pulling the carbs.
