Hello everyone, new member and new owner of a 1988 454ltd. I bought it about two weeks ago and have gone on several rides. It was running well minus the idle staying high after revving, the headlight not working, and being turn signal-less. After installing 2 rear turn signals, the bike would not start. I went out and bought a new battery. The guy I bought the bike from said the battery was old. (/\/\ extra background.) (vvv question in a nutshell.) And while I have been waiting for the battery on the tender I noticed a clear tube attached to the bottom of my carbs. It seemed loose but I couldve accidentally unplugged it? Where would I attach it to? What is it!?

It should be the over flow tube helps to keep over flowing fuel from getting on the engine or starter.

Thx for confirming that for me. I put the new battery in and it still would not start. Any ideas on what's goin on?
After putting turning the key, turning fuel switch thing to down, and putting red switch to run, I will press the starter button with the bike in neutral and nothing happens at all
Should I start a new thread in electrical?
Thx again for the help

The thing to do for new members with questions, is to search thru the forum......just about every question that has been asked is usually covered , at least to some degree, somewhere in the forum. If still no answer found to your satisfaction, then jump in and ask...someone will try as least, to answer and clarify.
