Yesterday was the hottest day on record for Washington - What a nice to it was to ride!
I haven't had this bike for long, I originally noticed a whoosh-woosh sound as I de-accelerated at low speeds. The whoosh has turned into a definite cable sound now at lower and higher speed both, it's either speedo or tach I am thinking. Both the speedo and tach work fine with no jumps, bounces, or other signs of distress.
Which would be the better better bet to replace?... Or... run it until cuts out? It is sounding pretty bad, so I dont' want to do any damage to anything else.

Edit to Add: I was able to reach down and grab the speedo cable while rolling and it was making the sound. I couldn't feel anything unusual about the cable, and the sound didn't change as the cable was manipulated. If I am romping on the throttle, something will kinda squeal for a moment until let off... that is about all I can think of for a description at this point.

I took the cable off and cleaned out the sheath with some Marvel Mystery Oil, ran WD40 through it, lubed the cable with axle grease, and the annoying cable noise seems to be gone for the moment. But, .... I still have something down there is like gently whish whish still. It almost sound like metal on metal popping as I was walking the bike. What is the thingy called that speedo cable attaches to at the wheel? May be a good idea to check bearings as well. Not sure about that but there is Youtube. Did I say walking my bike?....... I want a fuel gauge!!!!!!!! ETA: After cruising the manual, could it be the speedo gear drive in the wheel?

After thinking it over last night here is what I have come to.... this bike is off the road - duration unknown.
I was already in the plans and works to pull the rear wheel, new bake shoes and rubber, with possibly new bearings as well. Since I really can't pull both wheels at the same time, I am going to forge ahead wit the rear wheel first. Then I will tackle the front next.
Rest assured once I get to the front wheel I will be back to close this thread with an answer. I don't want to leave an open and pointless thread...I hate those.
Possible problem(s).
Speedo gear Bearings Warped rotor - getting really thin Break Caliper hanging up.

It took some time but I am on the road again - sort of.
The noise I was hearing I am pretty sure turned out to be the speedo gear in the wheel it's self. I lubed it up good and everything is quiet and running fine.
Now to tackle the coolant circulation problem, and no fan issue.
