Hi everyone gonna try this again. I am new to the 454 community having recently bought both an 89 and 86 bobber projects. I am hoping to get tips on anything and everything from electrical to body work and all things in between. So here is an update on what I am working on now. Currently I am taking 2 wiring harnesses that are chopped to shreds and trying to make one complete harness. I am not really concerned about all the warning lights and neutral lights. All I really need is the head and tail lights blinkers and guage lights and the bike to run. If anyone knows what I can cut as far as components and still keep the essentials please method know. Also I am fairly good at trouble shooting so I would be happy to help in that regard so hit me with your questions and if I can ever figure out how to post pictures on here I will be posting progress pictures.

Above is the most recent progress testing the tank fit. It looks like I am going to have to do a tack delete due to the low clearance of the tank. Also thinking of doing an inline petcock to resolve routing issues. Any input would be welcome and appreciated

So that last pic there is the kind of seat I am installing dimensions are 12"w x 16l. I was just wondering what you all think I should do under the seat to cover the battery and all those sensitive electrical bits? I know I shouldn't to welding anything down because I may want to get to the battery some day. I was thinking a small utility box bolted to the battery box mounts. Does anyone have pictures of what they did?

Also was planning on the seat having Springs as I am 6'2" and a frame height seat would just be too low.

If you are good with fabricating, you could form a "cover" underneath the seat, from frame rail to frame rail, to cover the battery box, and even form a small box area, to hold the eltronics moved from the rear fender.

I'm not an expert by any means the only issue is I have no access to welding materials so I can take what ever I want off of the bike but what ever goes on needs to be already built or I need to pay someone to do it which this being my first project I'm trying to steer away from. I found these Small steel boxes on Amazon I am thinking of using I should be able to drill a few holes and Mount it directly to the top of the battery box. As far as the sides go I'm thinking something like Black diamond plate I can cut that by hand and if done correctly it should look pretty sweet.
