I actually liked the "original" tank paint job. Eagle,a off topic question for you.In the first photo you can see were the kick stand spring is rubbing on the exhaust shield. Is this a common thing,as mine does the same thing,or is something bent??

I actually liked the "original" tank paint job. I didn't mind the colors but I hated the ugly decals on the sides. I was originally wanting to repaint it anyways but the accident kind of sped things up a little. I'm still working on a few things now but it is mostly done and today was the first time I took it out for a day long ride since last June.

The kickstand thing is kinda common...the "slot" on/in the kickstand gets spread a little, letting it sorta "flop" around. Remove the bolt and carefully close the slot til it just barely slides into place, lube it, and bolt it back together....this will take care of it for awhile...til ya have to do it again. Another cause could be that the exhaust crossover pipe connection has slipped a little, causing the the pipes to be slightly wider than normal. Alot of us have cut the crossover pipe out, & welded the holes up with a "patch", since the crossover pipe gets rusted out, or damaged so much that it leaks.

The bike looks good . Like Eagle, I really liked the original paint scheme but to each their own. I also have the exhaust markings from the kickstand spring. Thanks for the advice Eagle.

It looks like you have some bar going across the inner side of those saddle bags that keeps them from rubbing agaist the shock absorber springs. I bought some saddle bags and threw them on (under the seat) but without the saddle brackets since they didn't fit. After a while the springs worn into the inner side of the saddle bags so I took them off. I guess you bought it like that? Can you lift the saddle bag a bit and take a pic and post? I need some ideas on how to fix this thing.
Thanks. Take care.
sweet bike btw.

It is just a home made bracket that is bent round stock with some tabs welded on the ends that bolt inbetween the frame and pillion bar using the fender bolts. I'll try to get a pi up of it on the bike without the saddlebag on tonight.
