;D Hello all i just need to figure out how to post my pictures, i downloaded them on the great white knights photo page, now how do i get those pics here? These pictures are of my 89 454 ltd, i had to lower the size so they are not as super sharp as my originals. my bike is stock, i added my sport bags from my old sport bike and it looks cool, i put on a windshield and i have detailed it allot, it has 11k miles and its a great runner. She is super clean, tell me what you think? I brought her back from the dead, i got her and she looked like ..., i am an expert detailer and she is almost there, i just got to detail her wheels and a few other things and she is ready. I am prepping her for what i am calling my 454 adventure tour! which is going to be a week long trip through the appellation, blue ridge and Smokey mountain ride to deals gap. The Chef [ ] [/img]

The bike looks great. I also have an '89. I have been customizing mine a little. Just curious how did you get the exhaust soon nice? Mine looks stained and not real shinny. Is there some type of Polish or cleaner you can use on the pipes that will be ok with the heat? The same question with the crankcase on the right of the bike. What did you use on that? Again mine is kinda faded. I am almost done with my paint work so I will be posting some pics of my bike soon as I am finished. Should be within the next week they will be up on here.

For the aluminum cases, Mothers, and mucho elbow grease. Good chrome polish and elbow grease on the header pipes and mufflers will work, if the exhaust is not too :crudded up"...if you have "blueing" on the header pipes close to the engine, not much will help.

i use mothers aluminum polish, i just keep on applying and rubbing, every time i ride my bike i go over all my chrome, i have rubbing compound, but you have to be carefull with that thou its real powerful. i also use a polishing head on my drill, it takes time, allot of hours, just keep on it. You can turn it back to looking new if you just keep at it, as in my side cover is the same, continue to polish it everyday, always polish on a cool surface. i also use a polish applicator, then i wipe it off with terry cloth towel, then i buff with a polish towel. if you do this you will notice a difference.

Ok eagle so an aluminum and a chrome polish will hold up to the heat from the exhaust and the gearbox areas? My concern was that the heat would burn or discolor the polish.

;D Yep....th header pipes are double-wall, so regular chrome polish is ok, but u wanmt to buf it good to get residue off. The engine side covers are aluminum..use Mother's, and a powerball...they will turn out like mirrors.
