I have read on here somewhere that Suzuki Savage shocks can be put on our bikes to lower the ride.
Has anyone done this? Is it all years of Savage shocks that are useable? Can I use the bolts from my shocks, or do I need to get some other bolts?
Just looking for a little feedback on the topic.

Several, including myself, have done so, and yes your bolts will work. Honda Rebel 450 shocks will work , also.

Does one change the shocks for Looks or comfort? I Kind of think the bike would look better with a lower rear but am tall so I really do not want to give up the seat height. Was wondering why others do this mod.

Has anyone tried Vulcan rears?
They look shorter than the 454s, and I figured since the chassis is so close, they'd probably work.

The Vulcan shocks mount different on the swingarm, but they might work...probably the reason they look shorter is that they mount on top of the swingarm, the 454 mounts more in the middle of the swingarm.

I personally like sitting with the bottoms of both my feet firmly planted on the ground, when I am just sitting on a motorcycle, tip toes or shifted to one side with one foot on a peg doesn't do it for me. I'm 6 even, lowering mine with Spitfire shock/struts put it exactly where I like it.
The shock design and placement used in motorcycles in the 80's came from motocross. The rear tire to fender clearance on this bike stock is super retarded. What did Kawasaki expect people to do jump trees with it? Even though Kawasaki translates from Japanese into the English word "Flea" that much rear wheel travel is uncalled for.
