Hey everybody, I've been haunting this site since I bought my 88 454LTD a couple months ago. Thank you for your help and expertise. "Gloria" (the previous owner asked I keep her name) is my first motorcycle and its been so much fun to work on so far. Day I bought her New "european" bars So long back end! Fitting 6" trailer fender Cut about a foot off Homemade struts, fender fitted Cutoff the extra frame on the back and replaced turn signals with smaller arrowheads. Relays and electrical moved to project box under seat. Considering moving it to the side. Bought good thick solo seat pan and added a door hinge on the front. Cut up a bracket from an old seat. Cut in 1" half circles and padded circles with rubber grommets I cut in half. Seat on the bike. Stripping that nasty tank! (I sealed the inside after seeing a fare amount of rust) Don't get that stuff on your skin.. CLEAN. She's in one piece! Well that's it so far. More work to go including gauges.

i like the seat fitting, good idea. but i think you will need a little bit more padding in that seat !!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the feedback! I've got enough padding on me, but it's the traction that seams to be the issue so far. I think I'm going to make one padded leather seat for trips and leave the metal one for round town.

Since you have the fender struts connected to the swingarm, I assume you bolted the front of the fender to the front of the swingarm, so that the fender moves with the swingarm.

What brand of stripper did you use on the tank? Looks like it worked really well.

Wow loving what u have done with her. Can't wait to see the finished product. A quick question if you don't mind. What are the dimensions for the seat I really like the look of it on your bike.

definitely looks good! have you thought about lowering the rear? while it looks good i think lowering the seat 2" closer to the fender would really clean up your lines and bring it all together. something to think about, but your milage may vary.

Haven't thought much about it, but it's definitely a fun option.
