Here is a link to a modification to a "second generation" EX 500 flywheel to make it work on our 454 engine. I personaly have not done this, Blaine says he has. We do not "guarantee" this mod...it is offered here for your information, and as a "do it at your own risk" project. www.ex-500.com/index.php/topic,9980.0.html

Yes it is just a matter of grinding off the extra tab so it matches your flywheel exactly.Since than there was a replacement flywheel found.I will see if I can find the link for you.

Is there a benefit to this mod other than having more parts available? Does it provide more charging power?

There has been an aftermarket, heavy duty stator listed on ebay. It will be a little better than stock...the cost is a factor..about $125.00 or so. Look under kawasaki 454 stator, u should be able to find it.

No extra.Just a way to mod a more plentiful flywheel. Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, but what do you mean by "more plentiful?"
