If you can get a ex500 motor it fits the frame just like the original; there are a few small modifications you have to do to make it work...all of which can be found right here on this forum ;D

No problem; a more cost effective way, would probably be boring out the 400 cylinders and using 450 pistons or buying a 454 head and pistons a bolting those on instead, how much machining that requires I can't honestly say...I don't know how rare a 400 motor is for this bike; but it is worth holding onto if it is rare. Depending on part and motor availability where you're at, will be a factor in obtaining parts to upgrade or motors to swap. A friend of mine named Sean that goes by the screen name ibuiltmine on this site, has swapped a 650 into the frame, it also required a complete rewire but, where there's a will there's a way.

thank you,sir.
I saw ibuiltmine's cool bike. In Japan, only 400cc is available...we cannot buy 454,450,500cc... Kawasaki produced it in 94 years and was finished.and then It hardly exists in Japan. This is because it was incredibly unpopular in Japan...

Our 454LTD ( 454CC)here in the USA & Canada, is limited to 400CC in Europe, Japan, and some other countries......unless it was imported there by a US person, such as some found in the UK and some countrires, that were taken over there by (usually) US military personnel.
