Nice looking bike ya got there jpratt. A lot of us on here have replaced the stock exhaust with H-D mufflers. I just did mine this year. Will be posting more pics in my photo link soon as I get it installed. Got the pipes welded, wrapped and sprayed just need to install them.

BenInPA- I've not had time to give my bike much attention, but this week I plan to get it on the road at minimum, take advantage of the gas saving factor while I'm working on it. You said you used Porky Pig mufflers, which model and year did you use? And are you running baffles? Of course I want my bike loud, but I want a clean loud. Right now with the straight short exhaust no baffles, idle sounds AWESOME, but go thru the gears and it sounds like a 5hp Briggs with a straight 1" pipe for exhaust ,I REALLY want to build the exhaust myself to be honest, but I hate to put in all that time only to have it sound too weak for the exhaust like it does now. I have a great motorcycle salvage 10 miles from me that I used to work at when I was in school, I thought about going and digging thru "exhaust mountain" and frankensteining something together. I just want to look online at the Porky Pig mufflers and see what kind of $ I'm looking at in case I go that route for now. Any info is greatly appreciated

Most any of the H-D mufflers will work as they have 1 3/4 inlet.I found that the longer ones will give you a "deeper" rumble than the shorter ones.

Yeah the forum word filter does that for H - D. lol I purchased some H - D mufflers on ebay. I think they were for a dyna glide. Don't remember the year of them. The ones I got were similiar to these ones only in black. www.ebay.com/itm/FXD-DYNAGLIDE-91-94-TAPER-STYLE-MUFFLERS-/230178525204?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3597b59014&vxp=mtr#ht_510wt_721 That price is a little more than I paid. If you search around on ebay I'm sure you can find a lot more similiar to those. That price is actually not bad for H - D mufflers. The inlet on the mufflers are 1 3/4" pipe. I had a piece of 1 3/4" pipe welded and bent to the headers. The mufflers slide right on and then a muffler clamp. The sound is nice. They are nice at an idle and sound good when riding. They sound better when the bike is pulling and lower rpm. Due to our bikes being high rpm bikes no matter what mufflers you put on they are not going to be real deep at high rpms. I am happy with the sound. I will post a before and after video to my photo post. I have to take an after video. Give me a day or 2 to get it. You can then get a feel for the difference in sound. I know video is not the greatest for sound but it will give you an idea. Hope this helps man. Any other questions just ask. If I can assist you I will. I did post some pics of the bike with the final exhaust mods done in my photo post.

Your right blaine. Mine are pretty long. I would say probably 28" or so. The only thing with the longer ones are the mount. I had to custom mount them as they were way too far from the spot the stock mufflers mounted. Also the issue with the side stand rubbing the pipes. I had some custom bends put in the pipes to go under the bike and back out just past the stand. So the stand does not rub at all now.

Kinda funny about the muffler link I posted to you. I just looked at that listing. I am about 2 1/2 hours from where they are located!

I bought a custom sidestand with a internal spring so i can have clearance for heat shield the same on the right hand side.
