You can use the swing arm and belt from a 90 -95 Vulcan 500 (which is belt drive)......extends the wheelbase about 3 to 3 1/2 inches.

O yes, several have done this, including me, years ago. The 500 swing arm is longer by 3 inches or a bit more. You will need to bend the license plate mount a bit, as the rear wheel will be close to it.

Gates should be able to hook you up. 1 1/2 wide X 14mm pitch.

Don't forget that you will have to lengthen the rear brake stabalizing bar and the rear brake cable, if not long enough.

Did you ever get a belt I actually started this before I even saw this forum and started cutting and pasting but now I'm wondering if I can get a belt and how so? Unfortunately I never ended up getting a belt. I went back to stock length. I found a company willing to make one because it was an odd ball size but the cost was over $300. I wasn't willing to pay that much considering I paid almost that for the bike. If you are set on it tho there are options. You can convert to chain drive. There was a thread on here that explains how to do it an what parts you need. I didnt want to go the chain route because I already have some chain driven bikes and thought this was cool because of the belt. If you go through with it I'd like to see how it works out for you so keep us posted

that is the trouble with belts. a chain drive is the way to go it may not be what you wanted but doing modifications always means compromisers have to be made.
