I've waned a bike ever since I can remember. Used to watch love watching my uncles pull up on their bikes in the 80's. Thought it was so cool. Even loved the smell of the motorcycle fumes (i know I'm not alone here!). Years back in my early 20's I almost bought a crotch rocket which I'm pretty positive would've put me in the grave at an early age. About 5 years ago, I became interested in vintage bikes, primarily the Honda CB's which eventually got me really interested in cafe racers. I didn't have much to spend but, kept hoping I'd get lucky and land a barn or garage find. As luck would have it, while talking to a co-worker, she informed me that her ex-husband's motorcycle was buried in the back of her garage and I would be doing her a favor if I took it off her hands. The 1989 454 ltd was purchased in 1989. Owner rode it for less than a year and then joined the army. It's got about 3200 miles and has basically been sitting in a garage since 1990. Even though I had been hoping to find something different, this was a deal I just couldn't pass up. So we worked out a deal, paid the man $400 and with the help of my buddy JC, picked her up to begin my bogger project!

I've restored two and while it is a LOT of blood sweat and tears, the end result is very satisfying. From the looks of it you have an excellent project bike to start with. A low miler on top of it. I know you are going to enjoy the bike - I love mine.
Good luck

good looking bike Chango, I have one that looks a lot like your before pics.
What is your process for cleaning her up? What do you use?
