Thanks very much for the accepted join. My name is Chad, I bought an 85' Ltd for my girlfriend's first bike about a month ago, and I cannot stop bogarting it. Maybe I need a 12 step support group for that, I dunno. It's a sweet little machine, just a joy to operate. Very peppy, easy to work on, good looking, and rides like a Lazyboy. I picked it up for $350. So far I've installed new white wall tires, tach cable, Emgo pods, windshield, bags, 3 fork seal (one didn't seal), Rotella oil change, solenoid, battery, and a pile of work. By the way, upon tear down for my valve adjustment, I noticed how well Rotella lubes. Good stuff Maynard. My stumbles and throttle flat spots from installing the pod air filters are starting to clear up the more I tinker with it. I restricted about half of the pods after clipping coils from my slide springs. Running stock exhaust. Still, it's kind of weak and unhealthy in spots of acceleration. But I'll nail it at some point. Haven't synchronized the carbs yet. Shimmed needles, polished the slides, made sure all circuits where clear, no blockages in emulsion tubes or carb body. I suspect it is still the slides not raising to their abilities, I just won't allow this to defeat me. Okay, enough of that for now. And I agree 150% valve adjustments on these really make a pleasant running power plant. God bless, and thank you again for my ad!
