Anyone ever done rearsets on a 454? I've seen lots of stuff about forward setting the controls but nothing about moving them back to a standard riding position.

The stock position of the footpegs on the 454 is the standard setting position. The 454 is a cruiser, not a sportbike, even tho the engine is basically a sportbike engine. By looking at your picture, with your feet on the passenger footpegs, leads me to believe you are more used to riding sportbikes, not cruisers, the riding position is more like sitting in a chair, rather than with your feet to the rear.

I realize this but I'm looking into trying to turn this bike into a flat tracker for beach racing

I moved my foot pegs back a far as I could but still have them attached to the main frame. See my post "Finally got Hoss going!" In the photo section. I had to fabricate a gear selector holder as well as the foot rests are about 30cm back. And shorten the gear selector rod. Problem though, I really need to move them futher back as there in the way when standing at lights. So this winter I'm going to move them futher back again. But I really love the position of them, really comfortable riding position. Trade off though is that ill have to move the pillion foot rests if I move mine back more as there close already. But do it!!! Why not?
