Have an 85 454 & just removed & reinserted carbs. Does the overflow tube that's mounted between the carbs & hangs down...is that supposed to connect anywhere or just be hanging there?
Only reason I ask is it hangs down & there's something behind the starter that has a hold appearing to be about the same size as this overflow tube...but don't want to just shove it in there without knowing...

The over flow tube on my bike rests under my seat towards the breather area of the battery for now, but I will be looking to put it in a higher area like under my tank on the right hand side of the bike, somewhere out of the way.

I didn't hook mine to anything yet, but did notice stamped on that hose it says "Vapor". So maybe it's an emissions hose instead of an overflow? It comes from a 3 way joint sitting between the 2 carbs up high.

ilt is a vent/overflow hose...It must remain open & unplugged..It lays over the air box from factory..Iturned the T down & rout the hose out & under bike....Just makes more sence to havy over flow or fumes go away from bike.
