I am still a noob, although I registered over two years ago. Had to stay off bikes, had open heart surgery during the pandemic and have already test ridden a bike--a 2009 Kawasaki Vulcan 500. The seller, second owner, had taken the bike to a mechanic as he had trouble starting it in cold. The mechanic did some work on the carbs and mentioned that it has 112 main jets although the stock size is 102. He installed stock jets and the bike ran fine, according to the seller. He says the exhuast system is also stock and he has made no other modifications. Obviously someone, the first owner most likely, had tinkered with the carbs. What does one hope to achieve by installing bigger jets without changing anything else on the bike?
