I bought a 1986 454ltd and it will not start. Went through the wiring and found a ground that was off and fixed that issue. The engine will turn over and spudder for a second then cut out. I tried rebuilding the carburetor but the previous owner seized a jet and drain plug. Are there any aftermarket options? I paid $300 for the bike and don’t want to dive too deep money wise into the bike. Any two Chinese carbs available with a split throttle cable?

Used carbs pop up on ebay etc. How bad is this seizure? A jet and plug can be replaced do you think there's any other damage?

I’m unsure I have yet to pull the carbs. I’m awaiting a rebuild kit and when I dig into it I’ll know better. Previous owner said one of the jet screws and idle screw was seized.

I took a look at the fuel lines and it looks like the fuel lines are all messed up. There is one fuel line going from the petcokc the the front of the left carburetor and from the corresponding right carb it has a Vaccume line to the Evap canister. I don’t think that’s the proper routing. Does anyone have the fuel line routing diagram? I think the previous owner connected the line wrong.

Sounds like you've still got the emissions kit. Try a search for EX500 PAIR removal and you'll see how to get rid of it. If you want a really simply life fit a non-vac petcock and try to get the official blue workshop manual.
