Sent u a PM,. flatback. Thanks for that!! You reminded me of something - if this happens to anyone, it's actually really easy and cheap to fix. It cost me maybe $100 [$50 shipped for the head, $40 shipped for the headgasket, $10 oil change] and only took me an evening to do. For perspective - buying a new head and headgasket for my car would run me somewhere around $300-500 depending on if I could find a cheap head, and is much, much, much more difficult/time consuming to perform the job. I have a fully prepped autocross car and basically live in my garage, but I think even a person with much less wrench time than me will find this relatively easy. That may be a long winded way of saying: 'don't give up on it, in the grand scheme of automotive mechanics, this is a cheap and easy job'

Make sure you readjust the valves to the manufacturer break in period!
