Always appreciate information regardless, though luckily I do not think I need those. I dont think my bike had the canister cuz its not on there now nor are there any plates or anything on my head that looks like what I see in the pictures on that installation pdf for the plate modification. The vacuum hoses were hooked up between the carbs and tank, though the air valve was removed, I am waiting for one to arrive and once i install it i hope it will stop my carbs from overflowing when the petcock is on/bike not running.
No the plates are after market or on Canadian models. If carbs won't stop flooding new petcock probably won't change that.Needle & seats are dirty.Carbs a cleaning/rebuild.

Soaking it now , though i meant it was missing the air valve. So i am hoping once valve is back in the loop it will be closed/hole pressure until bike it on.
As it says under my tag-I'm a new member and not down on all the etiquette. I hope since we are keeping this thread going since we are talking about the hoses/air box.

This sounds like a float needle valve problem?

That totally makes since and I don't wanna seem like I have a hard head (I am the last person to think I know it all), but I have never had a bike with a vacuum/fuel system and am still trying to "see" how it works.
If it starts the flow once the engine is running/vacuum on-I would think vacuum off and a good air valve would hold the pressure stopping the fuel from flowing. And if that is correct-without the air valve between the fuel lines there would be nothing to hold the fuel back and all that air going into the tank from the air ports would push fuel through the petcock. ?

The air valve is emission only.It doesn't effect how the carbs hold fuel. You can retain the original air box & deleat all the other emission stuff. It will clean up the top of the valve cover & make valve adjustment much easier.

And I just got a replacement air valve-atleast it was only $10. I also pulled valve cover off finally and noticed on the underside that someone welded plates over the pair hole things. Did a pretty nice job too cuz i couldnt tell from outer shell, though it is also painted. So obviously I was wrong about my bike not having them. And you all seemed to be right on about the floats sticking cleaned out way too much sludge from each carb bowl. Thanks for all the help. I am going to start searching through threads about clutches now.
