So all I hear is how this LS650 seat is the best fit for this bike. I want to know if anyone has tried an aftermarket seat let's say from J+P cycles with any success. The LS650 seats I have found are usually in very bad shape or very expensive or both. Just wondering if anyone has tried anything else.

You can always make a custom seat with metal and a spring mounting kit. Its not that difficult.

And, faricating a fiberglass seat pan is relatively easy.

Watch "Molding a Custom Seat.wmv" on YouTube Molding a Custom Seat.wmv:
This was just what I found on my first search for fiberglass. Pretty decent video. Obviously its custom so you can change it to your needs. Personally I like metal. Though it takes more skill to look right. But it holds up better and longer.

Thanks....that gives me some ideas. I am thinking along the lines of a metal custom seat. Just have to wait and see what comes to mind.
