Does anyone know where to buy a new rear brake cable? I've looked everywhere. Im also looking for a replacement caliper. Will the 92-00 Vulcan 750 calipers work?

There are about 15 of them listed on eBay right now specifically for our bike

This bike was built from 1985 thru 1990, most "new" parts are no longer made nor available, sad to say. All "new" parts that are available, are aftermarket parts, many which are sold on ebay, by companies, and online from companies like Motion Pro, for example, cables. look on line nfor motion pro, they could have the brake cable...I know they have the other control, speedo & tach cables.

I have already spent many hours looking for this cable online as it's the only "new" one I don't have to complete my build. Seems weird why there would be a replacement for all cables except the one you would least want to snap

I would suggest maybe going to motionpro.com and contact them. I didn't see the cable listed specifically on their site but I feel pretty certain they could make you one. They are a good source for cables. My speedo and tach cables are both motion pro.

As I stated, not very many New parts are available for this bike, most all actual Kawasaki made parts have been discontinued for several years. You would be more likely to find one for a 1990 thru 1995 Vulcan 500 at a dealer.....it would be a bit longer, but should still work.

I understand kawasaki has decided to discontinue production of parts for these bikes but like you stated motion pro makes replacement cables for everything on our bike except the rear brake. Why would that be? There is obviously a market for parts for this bike and I sure don't want to snap my rear cable while riding

Thanks for the link Thud I haven't been able to find a site that had it in stock. Only downside is shipping to Canada is over $50, but I guess I have to bite the bullet for safety. Thanks to everyone else for their input. Without this site my bike wouldn't be nearly as far along as it is. Did a full tear down and am reassembling it now. progressive shocks, z bars with mini push button controls run by a motogadget m unit, mini bullet signals (rears act as brake and tail light) with matching headlight, solo seat, kuryakyn pegs, pod filters with jetted carbs and black wrapped exhaust..... pics coming soon.

No problem. I've ordered a few o-rings from them so I can get my valve adjustment done, if time ever permits.
Winter sucks!
