Hello everybody. I've been lurking around the forum since I bought my '86 454 in November. I picked her up for $550 in running condition. Finally got it out riding this weekend and now I can't stay off of it. It is my first bike and I am absolutely in love. I'm located in SW Pa so I'd love to be able to meet up with any fellow 454 riders that are close I took a few pictures when I was locking up at the dealership I work at tonight. I work there as a lot attendant doing detailing mainly. I'll put a few here, and I'll put all of the pictures I have in a thread in the photo gallery board. I also have a few starting questions, will these bikes go into 2nd gear while the engine is not running, and what is the proper cold starting procedure? I look forward to talking to you all further. This forum has been an absolute wealth of information for me. Any questions about me or the bike, feel free to ask.

Welcome.Great looking ride. These bikes have PNF (Positive neutral finder). They will NOT upshift into 2nd unless the bike is in motion.Use full choke for cold starting. Also these engines require a valve adjustment/check every 5000 miles.

Thank you guys for the welcome! I am extremely thankful to have found this bike in this condition for the price I paid. In fact, I feel extremely thankful just to have found this bike in this condition regardless of the price. I plan on doing a valve adjustment and fluid change either this weekend or next weekend. It's a crappy rainy day today so it might be a good day to sit in the garage and wrench away. Thank you for your answers to my questions as well. Full choke for starting, but what about the fuel position? Should it be on ON or PRIME? I also have to troubleshoot why my tachometer doesn't work. Oh, and the bike had a little under 19k miles on it when I got it... I think it has a little over that now because of me XD

I wish I had the answers! I am new owner myself as this is my first bike ever... I am 46...lol
I will be watching the board and your questions. I am sure there will be answers there I will be looking for too. I have a digital manual I was going to ask GWH if I can put it up or put an offer out there to share it. If this will work for you, I would be glad to forward it to you.

Good man! Thanks.
I'm 43, just passed my test here in Scotland last November, best thing I have ever done!!
Traded in my 2001 Suzuki GS500 for a 1994 EN400, should have it in around a week, can't wait!!!
Got a service manual for the EN from the states on it's way too but I'm sure sharing the digital version will be very welcome.
Nice to say hello.
Ally.

And I'm not entirely sure about the saddle bags. They came with the bike. I'm thinking about getting a new set, though, those ones are kind of beat up. I'm looking at a set either similar to those but slightly bigger, or hard bags.

Thank you It's been pretty chilly here in PA, but as long as it's not snowing I've been on it. I just can't stop riding.
