so i have just finished rebuilding a 86 en450 from a basket case status. i replaced all upper cylinder gaskets as well as both water pump gaskets, new rings and honed cylinders and clean carbs, ect. the bike fired right up but did not run for long. I suspected i might have sucked up some loose crud from the gas tank and removed the carbs to be cleaned and when i dumped the gas out of the carbs there was a mixture of water and gasoline in the bowls. i cleaned the carbs and drained the gas tank and put fresh fuel into the tank and fired the bike up. ran shortly only accepting idle speed and no throttle. im to the point now were in suspecting that there must be some damage inside of the head allowing water to pass into the porting inside and washing water back into the carbs and into the cylinders. was wondering what some of you fellows riders might think is going on.

If a cracked head allowing water release, I would think water would also be in the crankcase....does the oil look "milky"? Sure you don't have condensation/water in the fuel tank??

yes water was also in the oil. I had went ahead and ordered a second head, today i started the motorcycle with the same results, more water. i reinspected the original head, considering taking the my friend to magnaflux it. Any other ideas would be good.
