hay guys im needing some help i got a 88 en 450 and when i rode it all it did was bog and back fire and wouldnt got over 30 but then for some reson it let in to it and then didnt have a problem but it did it agin well i took the carbs off and cleaned them and now it starts fine and runs good but once i give it gas it bogs and back fires out of the right carb cant seem to find out the problem can yall help and if its the carb anyone have all the specs that i need to fix it thanks guys

i had a similar problem and it turned out to be dirty air filters. check there first.

ya i have already done the air box mod got pod filters on it i thin its the float not sure will do some work on it tonight

Back to my old question: Have you checked the valve adjustment?? Again, these engines like well adjusted valves.

no i havent cause one i dont know how to do it and i dont know the gap that it needs to have i know i can do it once someone tells me how to any help

Download the toolbar, it has an online manual that explains how to do the adjustment and the valve clearance. Or, follow this link and look on the left hand column for how to adjust the valves. www.thegreatwhiteknight.com/

have you re-jetted? wrap a hanky around your pod filters and see if that helps.
