Okay, I have 2 questions. First, is there supposed to be anything between the oil pipe and the head? I have a washer between the bolt and the pipe, but nothing between the head and pipe. I found out that is where the oil is leaking from. Second, is the Vulcan 750 much more bigger than the 454? I never thought that I would get my wife on a motorcycle, and now she loves it. The only thing is, when we both ride, it is a little cramped. I was looking at some Vulcan 750's and was wandering if there would be more room for both of us to ride?

Alright thanks. I'll have to get one. I had a feeling that there was supposed to be something but wasn't sure.

If you still have the head you pulled off, look on it. Those things have a habit of sticking to the head when you remove the oil pipe. Although ideally you want to replace it with a new one.

Regarding the Vulcan 750, there is a bit more seat space, but not much more room than the 454. In terms of drivetrain, there is a little more low end grunt (less top end pull) with the V-twin.
In my head I've long been planning a 454 with a bunch of VN750 parts on it, like the fuel tank/gauge, dual front disc brakes, etc.

Thanks for the input. I went to my local Orielly's and they had some brake line kits that didn't come with the copper washers. So the company sent them a bag full of the washers and sent way too many, so they said I could just have them. I looked at it thought that it may be a little bit bigger than the stock ones but it would work. Got home, put it on and walla, no more oil leak. Andrewk, I too have a bunch of VN750 parts that I'm trying to fab up to work. I picked up a rear fender for 6 bucks and I've been prowling ebay for other stuff too, such as a tank. Are they much bigger than ours?

The Vulcan 750 tank is 4 inches longer than the 454, mounts a little different (750 has a double backbone), so the 454 frame has to be stretched a minimum of 4 inches to make it fit. In other words, be prepared to do some serious frame mods.
