I am thinking about making up some pannier brackets to fit a Jerry can style tank on either side as reserve fuel, however have come up with problems at this stage of thought already.
If I just slip them in and use them as needed the bike may become off balanced unless I painstakingly equal it out.
The extra 20 litres of fuel would have a weight issue too right?
One idea I thought of was creating a fuel tap so that the on switch would be the original reserve, which will drain the main tank completly then switch to the new reserve which would have lines going to the cans up back equally draining from each.
I don't have to pay for fuel locally due to my work, so dont see why if I go long distance I should, so thought maybe if I just got enough fuel to cover the journey from home, it would be awesome ;D ;D ;D ;D
Thoughts and ideas please
