So i just got a 1988 en454 ltd for 100 bucks. Let's just say it needs some work. I'm extremely new to working on bikes. I'm not really sure where to start. It needs an ignition switch, a battery and a reservoir tank for the engine coolant along with a right rear blinker. Besides that I'm not sure what it needs. I broke something with the shifter not sure what its called but if you look under the bike there is a metal rod that connects to the shifter and it goes towards the back of the bike. It just snapped when i put it in gear. Also is there a diagram for all the electrical stuff it just looks like a mess to me.

I was looking through the manual and I broke the Shift Linkage Rod. Does anyone know where to get one?

I figured for the heck of it I would post the parts I need and see if any of you guys have some extras you would be willing to part with for cheap.
Shift Linkage Rod (39111: ROD-TIE) Ignition Switch Engine Coolant Reservoir (43078: Reservoir) Air Filter Cap Right Side (11012A: CAP,RH) Air Filter Spring Cap (92081A: SPRING,CAP) Air Filter Damper Rubber (92075: DAMPER RUBBER)

I have a Shift Linkage Rod (39111: ROD-TIE) I will include the complete assembly....
I also have the Engine Coolant Reservoir (43078: Reservoir).BUT it has a slight hairline crack in the upper side of it (very common for these) But I have heard of people using epoxy and fixing them mine is currently plastic JB welded and it has held for 2 yrs. I will let you have both parts for $20 shipped.
