I have a couple of electrical questions that I haven't been able to solve by looking at my shop manual and its diagrams. I'm pretty good with mechanical stuff but a total noob at electrical systems.
First, when I set my valve lash a few weeks ago, I removed the left side cover to get to the top of the cooling system, and have forgotten where to reconnect a particulay wire - it's black with a yellow stripe, and has a red plastic thing at each end, and is connected to the rocker switch on the left side cover. What should I connect the other end to? What does that rocker switch do?
Second, I also disconnected the non-radiator end of the fan switch ground lead; what should I connect that one to?
Third, my fan switch lead wasn't connected to the bottom of the radiator; there's a blue wire with a red stripe hanging loose, with a rusty, broken screw at the loose end; this wire is tied to the fram just inboard of the shifter, and is long enough to reach the fan switch lead connection. Is this my fan switch lead? If not, what's the blue/red wire for? Any suggestions for a replacement screw?
Thanks for any help you guys can give me!

There shouldnt be a rocker switch on any of the side covers.
I'm supposing that that there was a modifiation to the fan curcuit and that switch is to turn the fan on and off.
To solve this problem we are going to need to figure out how they decided to wire the fan circuit.

if you groud out the wire corroded off fom the bottom of the radiator is should turn the fan on. Ground that sucker out and add an inline switch to turn it on and off manually.
