fuse for the running lights is by the horn, there are three in there but don't remember which one. should be able to tell by looking or ohm out each fuse.

There should be 2 bulbs, one for the brake light and another running light. Obviously the running light being on all the time would be the first one to go. I think mine is out too, so I need to pull it and see whats up. There are also 2 bulbs each in the tach and speedo according to my manual.

I have went on ebay and changed some of my lights on the bike to led lights to save on power use I changed my break lights and made sure they put out enough light as the original also changed the license plate lights to led ,, they will last longer then the original lights that we use but the turn signal lights I have not changed as I need a digital flasher unit for my bike before I change them
I'm not sure whats going on with your bike ,, could be your not putting out enough power to run the bike and thats why your speedo rpm's will drop also a bad earth ,, go over your wires and check for this making sure at the same time you didn't have a wire shorting out on the body also in the dark start your bike and see if your getting a spark from any part of the bike ,, you can some times find a short that way I did with a car I was working on and it had a short so when I step on the gas it would short and slow down it would go up to around 30 mph and then slow down would not go much faster ?
Turns out in the cars case the spark plug wires had been stretched by some one who had changed the spark plugs and pulled hard on the wires breaking the thin wires inside the spark plug wires And when started the car up when its dark outside it look like a electric light display lol,,
with all the blue flashes coming from the wires and i put my had on one of the wires and yes !! i got a good old shock so a new set of ht Leeds on the car and off it went ,, I hope you have an easy fix like I did Ur I'm not sure if this is your problem ? lol it looks like I'm saying at first the clocks are digital but lol I'm not I see what your saying Eaglerider sorry if it reads that way I have add more to this message after your message

May I point out that the speedo & tach are not eletronic, they both are driven by cables.

well my brake light works fine when i hit and the tach works fine too just won't light up and speedo will not get an accurate speed and its a brand new battery less than 6 months old think it's a fuse by the horn then um check the running light

More than likely a fuse as far as lights are concerned. The speedo itself is cable driven, which leads me to either the cable itself, or the sending unit on the front wheel. Have you checked the cable for rust, fraying, etc? That is where I would look first.

Just had the same type of light problems...Follow advice on checking fuses, when you pull cap off it tells you which fuse is which. All the way to the left is Headlight, middle is brake running light and right is ACC. They are glass 10amp (Short ones) a pregnant dog to find

All the fuses (except for the main fuse) are in the "fake"horn, right next to the horn. Both grake lights??? There is only one brake light...in the taillight housing. Have u got the wireing hooked all worng, and using the turn signals as brake lights?? There are no "running lights" on the rear, except for the taillight. Are u calling the taillight a running light? If so, then u are using wrong terms in describing things. The only "running lights" are in the front, conbined with the turn signals. I thing that the terms u are using are confusing some of us that are trying to help.

ok found my fuses in the dummy horn pulled out the manual found the fuse under my seat looked good. my tail light will not come one when i turn the key on as it always did had to initiate the foot brake or hand brake put to make sure my bulbs are good. Which they are had a bad fuse put in the spare fuse still no tail light comes on when I turn the key on any suggests...uma change out all the fuses then go from there.

Have you pulled the cover off and actually looked at the bulb, it is a double filament, you can have brake lights and still not have a running light.

OK, if I understand right, u say that the taillight only comes on if you activate the foot (rear brake) or the lever (front brake)....that is fine for the brake light, which should be brighter than the taillight. Sounds like you have a broken wire, or bad connection in the taillight system.

well i put the new bulb in blew the bulb immediately so um thinking um getting to much power or a broken wire somewhere it's gonna go to a shop as um not a wire guru so um not gonna mess with a good running bike um let the mech's fix the wiring problem

so the brake light will work when only applying the hand brake? Which would mean I have a problem as mine only works when applying the foot brake pedal....grrr...any ideas? I still have not been able to find an online owners manual that would answer a lot of the simple questions...grrr...too cheap to spend $30 or more for one...grrr...lol
