my running light, brake light, and license plate light no longer work. I checked all the fuses they all checked out, the headlights on so I know its not the reserve lighting device. Also all the bulbs are good, I also got out the test light and it lights up when I turn the key on and when I put the brake on I ran a new ground thinking that might be it but to no avail. Please somebody have the answer

You might check your bulb sockets to see if corrosion is preventing good contact. If you're getting voltage with your tester, there shouldn't be much wrong with it.
A green kitchen scrubbing pad or some other sort of abrasive should work for brightening up the contacts.
In addition to measuring voltage to the bulb, you're right to make sure there's a low-resistance path to ground.

Remove the seat, (unscrew the two 10mm bolts inside the tool kit then pull forwrd and up on the seat) There is a connectctor that has all the wiring for the tail, stop, and signal lights. Pull it apart and check the connectors for corrosion. And BTW the rear signal lights are just that, No running lights in those light assemblies.

a corroded ground at the tail light socket, and a 1/2 bad reserve lighting device were the culprits, luckily I have two or three of every electrical component
