gotta 1990 454 wont start with the key switch no lights no nothing. i can jump it across two of the fuses and get lights but have to jump across the solonoid to get it to run. can anybody help me. thanks

Remove the seat, (first remove the tool box held on by 2, 10mm bolts inside the tool box to facilitate seat removal) then check the inline fuse on the positive lead coming off the battery.

Sounds like the ignition switch. They tend to get dirty in the contact area, or sometimes the little plastic tabs that hold it together get brittle & break. If the tabs are not broken, spray some electrical contact cleaner in there and work the switch - should clean the contacts.
