i am a first time bike owner i bought 2 a 85 and 86 i know nothing about bikes at all . my first problem is my 85 ignition is hard to turn . can i squirt WD40 or not ?my second is my 86 has had a screwdriver shoved in it becaus they lost the key .so for now i would like to bypass the ignition does any one know how to do this ? really would appreciate the help .

One of the best things for locks is graphite powder, this can be found in most hardware stores and auto parts stores. But if you have a pencil around the house you can break some lead(not really lead but graphite) out of it grind it up into a powder and put it in the lock; slide and wiggle the key in and out to spread the graphite around, and be aware that you have to push the key in to turn it.
As for the screw driver business if it turns it on and off, that will work until you can buy another ignition switch, you can use any dummy key instead of the screw driver to turn it..since the driver has already busted the pins and springs.
