Most any auto supply store (AutoZone, Napa, etc) will carry an electronic flasher unit that replaces the mechanical stock one. These have to be used when LED turn signals are used, and a lot of us have "converted to them.....direct pulu -n-play.... cost about 10 bucks.

Nope...it is either round or sorta square, about 3/4 inches high, and plugs into the wireing harness near the "control unit", has 2 blade tabs on it....or is it 3?....looks just like the ones that were used on autos. The control unit is part of the self canceling circuit.

The two pole flasher from the auto part store will be marked with an "L" and an "X" the L is for the blinker wire and the X goes to the battery wire.

1 looked again today and i found what you're talking about.. i didn't even see it the first few times i looked! I'll go tomorrow up to autozone or advanced or something to get one..switching to an electronic one should solve the problem of 'one side blinks but the other is solid, and all the bulbs work' right? i don't see why it wouldn't...

when one side does not flash, that is one indication that one of the bulbs on that side is burned out....have you double checked the bulbs to make sure one is not burned out?

all the bulbs work the right side was just staying solid. i went up to autozone today and picked up a tridon ep35 unit and hooked it up with some crimp-on spade connectors and ran a ground from it straight from it to the battery since its a 3-prong style, and it all works great--should still work if and when i switch up to LEDs. on that note, anyone ever try doing an LED headlamp?
