So with the pod filters and straight pipe exhaust (with baffle) my bike is running very lean. I've ordered more bowl gaskets (since they swell and tear so easy) and ordered larger main jets (stock 125, new 130)
WHAT ABOUT MAIN NEEDLE JET. Mine is stock and non adjustable. Yes I know i can shim it with washers. Is there a needle jet with adjustment and a better tapper to deal with my needs for richer fuel flow? Only thing I've found is the dynojet kit for a en500 ($85 ouch)
I'm worried I'll have to jump another main jet size to compensate for mid range running lean.
I guess I'll know more when I get to try the new main jets . But If there are any other thoughts let me know. Thanks, Brian

So I got my new main jets and bowl gaskets in mail the other night. Last night started taking apart carbs to clean and install new jets. I lost one of the pilot screw o-rings at some point. I was careful but s#$t happens. So I looked long and hard on the Internet for a replacement. $1-$2 an o-ring and $7 more to ship it seemed to be the standard. Found a place on line, CV-Performance, that had a 10-pack for $17 and free shipping. A little better price. But I just dropped $30 on jets and gaskets.... Well I thought there has got to be a better deal. I mean I get "dash"** size o-rings for work from McMaster Carr and they are usually $4-$10 for 100 o-rings. Problem is the "dash" o-ring with the correct I.D is too thick. Hmmmm. Finally I find McMaster Carr does carry metric o-rings in a size I think will be a match. 100 o-rings for $5. Ordered them at work today. They will be in tomorrow. I'll keep you informed if they work. If they do I'll pass along the info. Heck I'll have 90+ extras. (I ordered the ones made of Buna-n so they are the correct durometer and work with petroleum based fuels.) ** For reference "dash" refers to the AS568 standard callout out a three digit number that is the size of an o-ring. Look up o-ring sizes and you will see.

New main jets installed. New pilot screw o-rings installed. Float level set. Bike starts and runs good. I still have a dead spot in mid throttle range. It is running lean there so I will need to shim the main jet needle some more.
As mentioned above I purchased o-rings from Mcmaster Carr to replace the pilot screw o-ring I lost. Mcmaster Carr #9262K511. 1mm wide, 2.5mm I.D. Buna-N. $4.63 for a pack of 100. Work great. Not a perfect match (slightly smaller) They seal on the I.D. as needed and I have no doubt they will work great.
First five people to PM me their address and I'll mail them 4 o-rings free. 3 left
Later, Brian
