hey guys I replaced my key with a switch, cause I wanted to keep the frame lock intact. I just hid the switch. works good mine was shorting out. had to find the sweet spot to start her up ( P.I.T.A ) Ok so this is why im posting, I had a fuse out the one for the gauge and tail light, its still blown those fuses are hard to find. but since I did this mod they now work. so this mod bypasses the lil fuse box on the forks? I think this not to be a good thing, could someone that has done this mod pull some fuses out and see if this is true? my bike may just be jerry rigged this way some how? I dont wanna burn wires up!!!

You do not need an ignition switch for this "mod"....all you need (recommended) is a keyed, 2 wire (can use a 3 wire) on/off switch. I used a hardly david barrel key switch.....about 15 bucks (I think) on ebay.

I used an EN500 switch and cut a home for it in the side plastic for the neck cover, it's very solid nice switch. Try not to dangle heavy stuff on your key, as it'll wear out the ignition switch and also stuff that does a ton of flapping around, as it will create stress cracks in the key, from turbulence. A picture of the switch should be in my build thread... I'll go look, if not then I'll upload a couple there. I don't recall if it's plug and play... but you can take some thing like a long heavy duty needle mean for sewing canvas and bend the clip in pins on the connectors and deconstruct them and move them around, if they are in the wrong spot inside the switch connector. Easier than rewiring and one off switches IMHO. Edit: sorry that took so long... lots of business to handle this morning

Hi,
Could I please get the wiring diagram for the switch as well? Jiggling the key is getting to be a throw of the dice now.
Thanks in advance.
