i have a cheap and easy way to run pod filters on your ltd with out having to mess with rejetting. Now given your carbs are clean and synced up this is the best way to do this have the bike running good to start. Now by using this item you can find at any sporting goods store or even Walmart you can run pod filters. Now this is a Franklin flex soccer cone you buy them in sets of 4 for around 5 bucks or less. All you need to do is cut the top portion off like so. the parts marked in black is what you will want to cut off this is what i found to work best. Then do your own tailor cutting to get it to fit in side the pod filter. Just take the rubber boot off the pod filter and stick this piece into it you will now be blocking off a little more than half the airflow of the pod filter. That is what you want with a regular pod and stock jetting it runs lean because of to much air. By doing this mod your just restricing the flow of air and allows the carbs to run right with the right amount of air coming in. This works great from what i can see and once the cones are in the pods they are not coming out easy so dont worry about the engine sucking them in the boot along with wedging it under the filter will keep it snug. I hope this helps someone out. Its not so much a hipo mod but it gets rid of the airbox and makes taking carbs out easy without having to mess with the airbox boots hope this helps someone!

If everything is done just right, no mods to pod filters are needed. I have never faced the problems some have, & have ran pods for around 7 years, or so....maybe I got lucky, as well as some others have. When I made the change, I just put the filters on, "T"d the vacum lines, re-adjusted idle air/fuel mixture, and rode. Only time I had to re-jet, is when I installed the 500, using the 454 carbs...I then had to re-jet, as the 454 carbs were not giving the 500 enough gas. Corrected that with late model Ninja carbs, with larger CFM, tho I now do run larger jets, due to the competition cams.

Nice little mod caboose, some people are running cut up tin cans, steel wool etc. in their pods. I think a proper tune and jetting is the way to go, but this is an easier fix in some cases; besides that they're orange thanks for sharing.
