What size fuel line was stock on the 86 ltd? I am trying to fix a leak it almost looks like it is leaking side of the carb, where the fuel fitting goes in the carb. Any suggestions ?

Are you meaning its leaking from the "T" that is between the carbs? If so, the "T" has an "O"ring on each side where it goes into the carb, and the carbs will have to be seperated to replace the O rings. Otherwise, the rubber fuel line from the petcock to that "T" between the carbs is about 1/4 inch fuel hose.

Yes, I am afraid it is leaking at the "T" by the left carb, unless it is the clamp. I am going to take the carbs off the bike this weekend. Separating the carbs don't sound fun at all, any suggestion on the process? Now I have the tank off and just pouring gas down the hose with a funnel would his cause any issues. Both the vacuum lines are T'ed together but not to anything..

The vacum lines T together, then the single vacum hose goes to the petcock vacum port....the petcock is vacum operated. I have never seperated my carbs...not really, in my opinion, a good thing to do, unless really needed....which to replace the O rings, it is. After seperating them, replace the O rings (4) on each T..there are two...upper T is an overflow/vent, and the lower T is the fuel inlet. Do not mess with any adjustments on the carbs, including the control cable adjustment screws, and u should be ok.

The fuel hose is 7.3 mm ID, so its between 1/4" and 5/16". I just installed a fuel filter (Visuflow FF701C) in-line with the carbs that has barbs designed for a 1/4" hose. The filter fit pretty easy into the hose, so I used clamps to insure its leak-free. I would say a 1/4" hose would work, but it might be a tight fit at the petcock... which would make its removal/installation in the future difficult. I would try 5/16" if available.
