Hi, How would I test my relays on my Kawasaki ltd 450 also whats the differance between the relay on the rear fender and the relay on the side panel??? many thanks The relay under the seat is a turn signal relay, it makes your turn signals flash. The one under the side cover, is the starter relay; it passes voltage to the starter when you press the start button.

The carbs seem fine not cheaked the valves as I havent opened the engine yet . I tested cylinders by sliding pencil down spark plug hole . Unsure of opening the engine because of cost and avaliablity of parts .

Doing valve adjustment doe not require the engine to be "opened up"...just removal of the valve cover, and is very important on this engine, as the valves tighten up on this engine, preventing it from running right, and if too tight, can lead to head damage and expensive repairs.

Eagle is right, don't need to open the engine up to do a valve adjustment. It won't cost you much either. You only need a few tools to do it. Socket set, pair of pliers and a set of feeler gauges and a couple hours for the first time. If you message me your email address I will send you some instructions on the valve adjustment procedure. Ouch!!!! U will for sure be looking for a piston & Valve, possibly a head, and I would put in new piston rings on both pistons....in other words, a complete upper engine overhaul...which could cost an estimated couple hundred bucks, with gaskets.....unless u find a good complete, good running engine to put in the bike.
