So I'm trying to figure out what needs to be replaced and what happened. Turned the switch to on, dash lights and head light lit up like usual, hit the starter button and poof electrical went dead and I haven't been able to get it back. Not even dash lights when turning the key to the on position. I looked all over the board but couldn't find the same problem so my last resort is to ask for suggestions. Battery is fully charged and have not had any electrical issues prior. What went? I haven't found a ton of fuses, the one on the positive battery terminal line looks fine and I replaced it with a new one just to see if that were the issue. What do you guys think? Thanks for the help. Sorry I am a noob when it comes to this stuff but I like to tinker.

It could be your ignition switch gone bad. There are several on the forum that have had this issue. Try and wiggle the key and see if the power comes on. There are only a couple fuses. One is under the seat by the battery which it sounds like you found. There are 2 others in a round black box next to the horn on the front fork. I would check all fuses. Check in the headlight bucket to see that the plugs did not come undone. There is a plug in there that is for the ignition and also the instrument lights. Make sure all your wire are hooked up snug. It could also be the battery is dead. Try jumping it from a non-running vehicle. Very important the vehicle is not running. If it is you will most likely fry something in your wiring. Check all those things and get back to us with the results. If still nothing then I would suspect the ignition switch is bad. Sent from my Droid 4 using Proboards Mobile App. ;D

Cool, thanks. I will check more things. Never thought to wiggle the key, sounds like growing up and having to "wiggle the handle."

Did you ever figure this out?

"Wiggleing the key" is a very strong indication that the ignition switch is defective, and due for replacement. There are several posts here in the forum dealing with this, and some info for a cure less costly than a new stock switch.
