Will running some seafoam through my tank help with mileage at all. Im only getting around 37 MPG. From what Im reading I should be higher. If your carbs are dirty, it will absolutely help. There are also a couple other things to look at as well: A valve adjustment will do WONDERS for your mileage, if you haven't done one as of yet. Also, if you are on older tires, more than 3 or 4 years old, they should be replaced. Older tires don't hold their shape properly, and make more contact with the road, and lowers your gas mileage. Also, keeping your tire pressure above 32 PSI will help as well. Make sure your spark plugs are clean, or replace them, and make sure they are gapped properly. If you have a multimeter, make sure both coils are tested and are working properly. Make sure your air filter(s) are clean, and the oil has been changed. Another simple fact: if you are running pod filters, you are NOT going to get as good of mileage as those of us that run the factory airbox. If you are running anything other than the factory exhaust, you are NOT going to get as good of mileage as those of us that run the factory exhaust. Try using some of the SeaFoam spray as well. For my bike, I found that when I got the bike, I was getting right around 50 MPG. I SeaFoam sprayed, and had some in the tank, new air filters, plus a valve adjustment, and properly gapping the spark plugs, I'm now right around 57 MPG; and that is even with being more aggressive on the throttle than I used to be at 50 MPG. SeaFoam will not hurt the bike in any way; it can only help. I put an ounce in every other tank, to keep my carbs squeaky clean, and I use the spray at least once a season.

BenInPA should be by shortly, he has some documents he made up that will help you tremendously with the valve adjustment. I myself don't have the links to the sites you need, right here off hand. Ben or Blaine will send what you need, they're both great guys.
