Hello, I got a 454 running and it had pod filters on it so I don't know if it was jetting or anything about it for that matter. Anyway, the original airbox has been removed. The bike runs good other than it bogs at high rpm. I suspect the pods may not be the correct size so I put a sock around both pods and it runs perfect. Doesn't that mean I have the wrong size pods? If so, how do I know what size to get? Thanks. The current ones are foam with a large spring in the middle and they are about 4 inches.

Emgo pods 54mm are the best to use.But you will likely need to cut 3 coils off the top of your diaphram springs. You may want to do this before replacing the filters. If it runs right with the partial blockage, than cutting the springs will fix your bogging.

Ok, just so I understand correctly. Since I have the bogging, are you suggesting that I cut the coils first and if that doesn't work then intall the 54mm emgo pods?

If it seems to be fine every were else I would start by just cutting one coil out of diaphram spring

I cut one coil out with no improvement. I put socks over the pods and it runs perfect so what's the deal with that? A friend told me I should be trying to adjust some screw on the carbs but I'm not too familiar with that. Any suggestions now? Cut more springs?

Cut one more out.I cut a total of 3 out of mine. The screw they are talking about is the idle mixture screw & has no affect on the bogging/It only effects idle to 1/4 throttle.
