Bike has been running so fine all spring and summer. I havent ridden in a week. Got on tonight to go for a ride and it started fine and got warmed up. I put it into first and started to let off the clutch and it died. kept happening over and over and same thing over and over. Soon realized also it wouldnt shift into 2nd. Any idea. Its running fine in Idle.

If your kickstand is down the bike will stall.Thats the way its designed. If the stand is up than the switch is most likely stuck. Also bike will not go into second until the bike is moving.A Kawasaki feature called PNF. (positive neutral finder)

I will. Whats the best way to fix that switch if thats the problem? You can by-pass the switch by pluging the two wires together.Just don't forget a ride away with your stand down.
